First week of December is almost over already

and do I have anything Christmassy to show for? Nope! Not yet. LOL

I've been doing good with my photo-a-day challenge so far. You can have a look in the album on the left side of the blog. Here's today's one. Took it bright and early today since I've been home all day:

Yup, a load of laundry. I've been doing some of those on top of the regular ones since Morgane has been sick with gastro-like symptoms since last night after she came back from dance class. :(

Hopefully she'll be back to her regular self so she can accompany Laetitia, Maude and myself to the spa to celebrate her sister's 10th birthday tomorrow morning.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Hopefully no other member of this family with have what Morgane has had. Please send us some good health vibes anyway, just in case. :)

December photo-a-day challenge

Before I forget, I want to say thanks to everyone who had a good thought for my SIL on Monday. She went through the surgery and seems to be fine. They are waiting for more results in a couple of weeks. I guess that those will determine the next steps needed.

Even if December is a crazy busy month, I had been thinking about it but I hadn't really made the commitment in my head and then, Patti invited me to join her and Ruth. No theme, no rules, just snapping whatever we felt like throughout the month. There might be a couple of challenges or subjects to try on during the weekends but I guess that we'll see as the weeks go by. I've already set up a new photo album for this if anyone is interested in following. You can see it on the left side of the blog. Hopefully, with all the preparations and celebrations and stuff going on during December, I shouldn't have too much problems coming up with subjects for my pictures. =)

At the same time I was thinking of doing picture-a-day on my own, the great Lain Ehmann - my layout-a-day guru - was coming up with her own twist on the picture-a-day challenge: taking those weekly pictures and making a weekly review scrap page with it. I see it as kind of a twist on the December daily album that is all the rage right now.  Since she has been a good influence on my scrapping life, I decided to follow in her steps once again and play along. =)

Not sure if I'll be able to accomplish it all or even be able to actually scrap the pictures from the previous week right away - more so since I've become a Glee and Twilight fan *sigh* - BUT I'll do my best. =)

I know that I'm already late with the first picture! It's taken though. Just still in the camera. And I must remember to bring a small point and shoot with me at work if I want to have any chance to get a daylight shot in there somewhere! LOL

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Anyone else interested?

Some news

What have we been up to lately? Well, besides scrapbooking, I've been watching some tv and reading. But, mainly, what we have been up to is this, remodeling both girls' rooms. We had started the process during Summer for Laetitia's room but things had stopped for a while. Then, at the beginning of November, we started Morgane's room and finished up Laetitia's at the same time, under much help and the supervision from my ILs. :)

Anyone wants to see the results of everyone's hard work? Here's Laetitia's room:

 

   

   

 

Lots of pink, bling and this chandelier that used to belong to my mom (it got a little pick-me up with a coat of white paint and some additional pink bling)

 

And here's Morgane's room. Very vibrant and fun much to Morgane's temperament. Both girls had their say in the colors and style of their rooms but my MIL has been the mind behind it in order to come with beautiful cohesive looks:
  
  

 

Laetitia got my mom's chandelier but Morgane got my heart-shaped mirror back from when I was even smaller than she is now:

She also got her own chandelier too that got spruced up a bit with some green bling:

 

Both girls are very happy with their new rooms. They now both have a desk to be able to do their homework on their own, whenever they can. I'll still be going around to help them but Laetitia has already taken to being in her room and do her thing. :)

We've also been working in the basement lately to finish up the playroom and second living room. We've decided to add a long table with some cupboard on top so the girls could sit down and either work on some crafts or with the laptops. We also did a bit more decorating down there too. I can't believe that my house if finally shaping up! LOL

The girls and I went to see New Moon at the theater this afternoon. I have two different girls I can tell you. Laetitia was squirming and closing her eyes and asking me to let her know when it was over everytime someone fighted on screen as Morgane was  squirming and closing her eyes and asking me to let her know when it was over every time there was some k-i-s-s-i-n-g scenes on the screen! LOL

Overall we had a good time though. We even had more fun after coming back home and while our roast was cooking - and after homework was over - putting on some make-up and false eyelashes and taking fashion-like pictures. You'll have to wait to see those though. ;)

A fly-by post tonight

Sorry, I've been kind of missing in action again. Seems like I've been doing all kinds of other things than updating my blog since last time.

Anyhow, here's a page that I've managed to do for the AC blog challenge using some bling on a page:

It's been calm on the scrapbook front lately. I've been reading a bit more and I've been watching a bit more TV too. I was going to say that I'll get more time to scrap since Dancing with the stars is over but I've found myself another program to replace it. I think I've joined the ranks of the Glee fans...  So far I've watched the first 5 episodes on the net and it is very entertaining.

Morgane got her ears pierced again last weekend, an early Christmas present from her grandparents. She was a real trooper about it even if she thought of not having the second ear pierced for a split second after the first one. LOL  She's very happy to be sporting two pairs of earrings now like her mama. =)

Laetitia declined the invitation though. So far I'm not sure if she really didn't want a second hole in her ears or if she didn't want to go through getting a second hole in there. LOL Oh well, if she changes her mind, I'm sure her grandma will bring her to the jewlery store. =)

Another crazy Barb/Nath product challenge!

I thought that things were kind of lame in my scrapbook world lately so, having a little sadistic side, I ask my good friend Barb to throw me a challenge the other night while we were chatting.

She figured out that an "older supplies" challenge was in order since she had been trying to get rid of some of her overflowing stash the last couple of days. (I shouldn't talk since I'm pretty sure that I have twice the amount of stuff that she has... LOL)

Anyway, we ended up daring one another to use the following on a page: Making Memories mailbox letters (at least one), a bookplate, some eyelets, one stamp (at least three years old) and - the one that I threw in - at least one piece of Chatterbox patterned paper. 

I have to say that this one was a tough order. I kept looking at my stash of unused MM mailbox letters wondering what in the world possessed me to buy them in the first place and how much Barb hated me for making me use them on a page! LOL J/K Barb! :P

But much to my surprise, I managed to make a half-decent page with all of the above, using an older sketch that I had kept back from the days I was on the Scrapbook Centrale DT (I think it was by my fellow DT member Ruth):

I actually managed to use three different Chatterbox papers on this one and two older stamps from Purple Onion. Other supplies include: HS chipboard alpha, heart and label (sisters) and some glimmer mist.

Je l'ai fini!

Quoi donc? Mais mon scrap challenge entrepris en 2008 avec ma bonne amie Barb. Nous allions scrapper une page par mois à propos de nous, à partir d'un thème ou d'une série de questions. J'avais été plutôt bonne une grande partie de l'année mais je me suis mise à flancher vers le mois de septembre 2008. Depuis, j'ai fais les autres ici et là selon mon goût et mon inspiration. Mais ce soir j'ai décidé de finaliser tout ça en terminant la page du mois de décembre sur le thème bien sûr du temps des fêtes.

La voici donc cette page qui me rempli de fierté. Non pas par sa créativité exceptionnelle ou ses techniques particulières mais pour la simple et bonne raison que je suis heureuse d'avoir accompli le but que je m'étais fixé. Un peu en retard mais ne dit on pas qu'il vaut mieux tard que jamais?

Maintenant, il faudrait bien que je m'attèle à deux ou trois autres projets qui sommeillent dans mon coin scrap... MDR

Another one for the AC blog challenge

Sorry for the lack of news but there isn't much going on around here these days. It was a pretty relaxing weekend for us besides the usual errands and classes. The weather was great though. It was a nice change.

Here's another page for the latest AC blog challenge. This week we have to make a Fall page using at least two AC products. I decided to go with some pictures from the annual Chinese Lanterns Festival at the Montreal Botanical Gardens. It's one of our regular Fall outings. I feel very lucky to have such exhibitions around.

A page for the AC blog challenge

I haven't been able to participate to the fun AC blog challenges for a while but I had to this week as we had to scrap an Halloween page. As I took a couple of great pictures last Saturday and I just happened to have the new AC Halloween line on my desk, what more could I ask for?! LOL

So here's what I came up with:

I love this picture of the girls. It makes me smile as I see Laetitia looking all preachy towards her sister...

That's my first page since I finished LOAD last month. I needed a little break and some time to put some order back on my desk. I have a couple of cards to make now. I should probably get going on those before starting an other page though. :)

The weekend is almost here again. I won't be too sorry. I think I've been having a difficult time with the time change this year. I hope that I can fit some zzzz into my schedule in the next few days.

Joyeuse Halloween!!!

Après de longues préparations tant pour trouver comment décorer nos citrouilles que les réaliser mais également pour décider en quoi on se déguiserait cette année, trouver les costumes, acheter les touches additionnelles et faire les ajustements de dernière minute, préparer les sacs avec les bonbons pour la distribution, ce soir était LE soir.

Dommage que la température n'ait pas été tout à fait au rendez-vous. Bien que la pluie ait cessée juste avant que les enfants débutent leur cueillette, le vent était toujours de la partie et le froid est revenu. C'est avec quelques épaisseurs sous leurs costumes que les filles ont fait leur tournée annuelle dans le quartier. La récolte n'a pas été aussi bonne que par les années passée. À peu près autant de gens donnaient des bonbons mais il semble qu'ils étaient un peu moins généreux cette année. C'est compréhensible avec la situation économique. Quant à nous, il ne nous reste aucun bonbon. Tout y est passé. :)

Laetitia avait décidé qu'elle se déguiserait en religieuse cette année. Disons que je n'ai pas eu grand maquillage à faire pour elle. MDR Quant à Morgane, elle avait choisi un costume desorcière d'automne au magasin cette année. Elle était très jolie avec ces faux cils et son appliqué en brillant. (mes amies scrappeuses reconnaîtront possiblement les blings de Kaiser...)  Voici le résultat:

 

 

Bon, maintenant je sens qu'il y aura déjà des discussions dès demain afin de penser à ce en quoi on se déguisera l'an prochain!

Voici mes deux dernières pages pour mon challenge LOAD. Le mois d'octobre est terminé et j'ai tout de même réussi à faire 18 pages.
